DON’T BE DEFEATED, BE AN OVERCOMER

There are times in our lives when we feel defeated. As effective as balloons without air. Instead of meeting the issue head on, we sulk around and try to hide, thinking that avoidance will make everything ok. I have been there. When I have given my best and it still was not good enough, or not in my eyes. I felt let down and defeated. And I venture to say, we let the devil magnify our defeat to us. He stands back laughing at our hopelessness, and lack of confidence. But we are not to live in defeat. We are to rise above it.
The Bible says in Hebrews 10:35-36 NIV, 35 “So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”
That is pretty clear.  Perserverance means to stay determined and focused. When I was a child we sang the song, I’m in the Lord’s Army. We are soldiers, actually warriors, in a battle for good over evil. Every day is a fight. We can’t run and hide every time the devil tries to snare us. We are to put on the whole armor of God, and fight the good fight until Jesus comes. Next time you feel defeat slip around you and try to hold you close, shake it off! In the name of Jesus.  Until He Comes!
